It's important that you only find sites that are as laser focused to your niche as possible, because forums tend to be pretty territorial places and you won't be too popular if you market yourself in a niche forum that has nothing to do with what you are selling. That's a quick way to get tarred, feathered and banned. So the first step is to find those forums that are related to what you are selling. Next, you want to register for those forums and become a member of them. Once you are registered, you're going to become a productive member of the forum who regularly contributes valuable information to the other people in the forum. You don't want to join a forum and right off the bat start selling your product. You don't want to join and then create a thread about what you're selling or telling people to join your email marketing lists or anything like that. Instead you want to respond to other people's posts, you want to create threads that are of interest to you, and by all appearances you want to look like just another person who joined this forum because you are a member of the community.
